GOLD Lactation Online 95+ Hour Program

 Through GOLD Lactation Academy you will have online access to recorded presentations and activities. These presentations cannot be downloaded on your device. Courses in this program will be available for a period of one year from the time they are made available for you. If you do require additional time, please Contact us for an extension. An extention fee may be applicable. GOLD Learning owns the property rights to all contents in this program and grants the user non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, non-salable use of the lecture materials.

 Our online program is intended to provide education to become a lactation consultant/support provider. This program has been designed to provided all 90 lactation-specific education required set forth buy the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) in the Detailed Content Outline for preparation for the IBCLE certification exam to become a Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). This program also includes the additional 5 communication hours required to sit for the IBLCE exam. No guarantee is implied concerning to the passing of the exam. In addition to the comprehensive information on lactation management this program has to offer, individual study and clinical training are required to be successful in the field of lactation.

 The GOLD Lactation Online 95+ Hour Program is subjected to the scheduled release of the 15 preparatory Modules. These Modules are subject to non-scheduled and/or scheduled service disruptions and loss of server information. This is very unlikely, but in case of occurrence GOLD Lactation Academy is not liable for damage, loss, or data corruption of content in this program that may happen because of the service.


 Goals and Purpose

 What is the purpose of the course?
 To significantly increase success, preparation, and deep understanding of lactation and human milk feeding for those entering the lactation field.

 What is the course's goal(s) in preparing students for helping breastfeeding families?
 Improve outcomes for those sitting for the IBCLE exam, as well as increase knowledge and understanding for those entering the lactation field to prepare them for their clinical internship.

Prerequisites

 There are no prerequisites to enter the GOLD Lactation Academy. GOLD Lactation Academy is keeping in sync with IBLCE's standard of equity to allow "all applicants without regard to ability/disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, sex, ethnicity, race, national origin, political persuasion, marital status, geographic location, religion, socioeconomic status, age, within the legal framework of the respective geo-political region or setting."

Accreditation CEU's

  1. Continuing Education Units (CEU's) will be available for all the lectures. In order to receive accreditation for a particular presentation, students must be logged-in with their own username & password. All our lectures will provide CERPs and Nurse Contact hours appropriately.
  2. You will be required to complete a short quiz after viewing each presentation to verify you have participated in the learning activity.
  3. A certificate of completion will be available at the completion of each Module.
  4. Your certificate(s) will reflect the amount of educational activity that has occurred.
  5. Upon successful completion of the whole program, the student can be awarded: 90 Lactation specific hours towards the IBLCE exam application, 5 Communication hours towards the IBCLE exam application, 97.25 Nursing Hours, 90.25 L Cerps, 5 R-Cerps, 2.75 E-Cerps


 WHO Code Policy

 GOLD Lactation Academy is proud to be one of the continuing education events that are WHO Code compliant! As such, we do not accept sponsorship or advertising from any manufacturer, organization or company that is deemed to be in violation of the World Health Organization's International Code on Marketing of Breast Milk Substitutes. As well, we require our Speakers to sign an agreement stating their knowledge of and compliance with the WHO Code. Should any individual, organization or corporation, who is speaking or sponsoring GOLD Lactation Academy be found to be in violation of the WHO Code, GOLD is at liberty to cancel their involvement and nullify any prior agreements.

Groups

 Please contact us if you have a group of 5 or more members that would like to register to this program. A discount may be applicable depending on your group size.

 Technology

  1. You must have access to a smart phone, computer, or tablet with internet to access GOLD Lactation Academy.
  2. Watching these recorded presentations does not require any additional software.
  3. The GOLD Lactation Academy Technical Team will provide online technical support for students but are not responsible for ensuring that a student's computer specifications and internet configuration enable them to access this online program.
  4. Technical Support will be available from 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday, Pacific Standard Time (Vancouver B.C.)
  5. Students are strongly advised to ensure that their device and software configuration meet the following specifications:
    • Minimum Internet connection speed: At least 56.6kbps is recommended.
    • Speakers or a headset.
    • Lower internet connection speed may affect the quality of your experience.

90 Hour Online Lactation Consultant Training Course - Faculty/Expert Speaker Grievance Policy

 The Faculty Grievance Policy aims to provide an organized and equitable process to resolve grievances by faculty and expert speakers. Grievances can include a dispute between a faculty member/expert speaker and GOLD Lactation Academy about the interpretation and/or application of GOLD Lactation Academy's policies, procedures, or provision of services that may negatively impact the faculty member/expert speaker. Faculty members/expert speakers are asked to resolve the issue first through an informal resolution by bringing it to the attention of GOLD Lactation Academy Team ([email protected]) or relevant party. If the faculty member/expert speaker is unsatisfied with the response, the faculty member/expert speaker may make a formal, written grievance to GOLD Lactation Academy Team [email protected]). Any formal grievance must be submitted by the faculty member/expert speaker within 30 business days of the occurrence. The faculty member/expert speaker must state the nature of the grievance and the remedy they seek and describe any previous attempts to resolve the grievance. GOLD Lactation Academy Team will review the situation internally and with the GOLD Lactation Academy Advisory Committee. GOLD Lactation Academy will provide a written response, within 45 days of receiving the complaint. Faculty members/expert speakers will be informed if extenuating circumstances require additional time. The decision made by GOLD Lactation Academy and the GOLD Lactation Academy Advisory Committee will be final.

90 Hour Online Lactation Consultant Training Course - Student Grievance Policy

 The purpose of the Student Grievance Policy is to provide an organized and equitable process to resolve student's grievances. Grievances can include a dispute between a student and GOLD Lactation Academy about the interpretation and/or application of GOLD Lactation Academy's policies, procedures, or provision of services that may negatively impact the student. Students are asked to resolve the issue first through an informal resolution by bringing it to the GOLD Lactation Academy Team ([email protected]) or relevant party. If the student is unsatisfied with the response, the student may make a formal, written grievance to GOLD Lactation Academy Team via email ([email protected]). Any formal grievance must be submitted by the student within 30 business days of the occurrence being grieved. The student must state the nature of the grievance and the remedy they seek and describe any previous attempts to resolve the grievance. GOLD Lactation Academy Team will review the situation internally and with the GOLD Lactation Academy Advisory Committee (GOLD LAAC). GOLD Lactation Academy Team will provide a written response within 90 days of receiving the complaint. Students will be informed if extenuating circumstances require additional time. The decision made by GOLD Lactation Academy and the GOLD Lactation Academy Advisory Committee will be final.
